Free City

History

Built upon the shattered remains of Freeport on Grand Bahama, an island in northwestern Bahamas less than 70 miles from the Florida coast, Free City is a marvel of modern engineering and human perseverance. After Hurricane Willhelm swept through the Caribbean chain of islands and smashed into the coast of Florida, many cities were left in drowned ruins. Continue reading “Free City”

Venom

A group led by Ultras who believe that the new humans, homo sapiens maximum, should be the future inheritors of the Earth. The leaders of Venom believe that war is inevitable and prepare. When the war comes, they intend to be the sole survivors. In this way, they believe they will win humanity’s rightful place in the galaxy and force the Alien Alliance to recognize it.

UNCUL

United Nations Council on Ultramen. UNCUL (pronounced either Uncle or Un-Cool) deploys multinational teams to deal with especially problematic Ultras. “Problematic” is a term that is not necessarily restricted to Ultras who intend to do harm, but means any Ultra deemed a threat by the United Nations Security Council.

UNCUL is said to receive substantial funding from nations who fear the global Ultra outbreak. As a result there is speculation that UNCUL maintains several prisons located on a few isolated islands around the globe.

Unsubstantiated rumor also maintains that UNCUL employs a few “traitor” Ultras that help them round up their own kind. However, it may be more worrying to Ultras around the world that they may be capable of dealing with Ultras without the assistance of such turncoats.

New Power Theme: Magic

Magic Power Theme

Your powers have a magical origin or are powered through spells instead of due to genetic manipulation by an alien race somewhere in your ancestry. If your powers come from magical artifacts, you may instead look at the Technology power theme and imagine it employing magic items instead of gizmos. Since you’re not an Ultra, powers like Power Nullification and Power Amplification don’t work on your powers, unless they are also magical in origin. Nor do your magical power nullification or amplification work on the powers of Ultras. Continue reading “New Power Theme: Magic”

Alternate Origins for Ultras

While the powers of Ultras originate from alien manipulation of human DNA, this is not the only possible source of supernatural powers. People with abilities that do not originate from the Alien Agenda are also technically not Ultras.

Some few individuals that have powers are not from this world at all, but rather originate from another dimension. Where super powers are concerned, almost anything is possible. Therefore, every once in a while someone slips through the barrier between worlds and finds themselves in this one. There is also at least one megalomaniac world conquerer who’s modus operandi is to discover new worlds across dimensions and invade using super technology and enhanced, often engineered, beings with abilities that can resemble those of Ultras. State of the World

Naturally, each nation of the world has their own plan with regard to the situation the aliens left with us. Some rounded up every last modified human they could with the intention of control. Sometimes this worked and sometimes it didn’t, depending on how much of a fight these modified humans had in them.

Other nations realized they would never be able to round up every last one of these alien-modified human-hybrids, mainly because the aliens had been doing this for so long, nobody had any idea who might have inherited the genes for powers and who didn’t. And finding out could take decades of time that, according to the aliens themselves, humanity really didn’t have. Continue reading “State of the World”
