That morning a rider arrived at Emmeline’s home from Uzec. He was very tired, took some water and said to Rivanon and Emmeline as he took a knee, “M’ladies.” Looking to Emmeline he said, “with m’lady’s compliments,” pointed outside where two riding horses awaited. “I sent him last night,” Rivanon said. Looking to the rider with a look of appreciation she said, “good sir, you have served me with excellence and fair action. Take a rest here and gather your strength. Sleep, and then this kind family, with m’lady’s permission of course,” looking to Emmeline, “will make you a great meal later this evening.” She place a hand on his shoulder rise and get some rest.

When they had returned to Uzec Elemix pulled Emmeline aside and asked if she would join him in his quarters later to discuss what Mara had requested.
Curious and interested, Emmeline agreed. After she arrived at his room and he let her inside, she waited for the door to shut. She smiled but couldn’t help a little teasing. “You know, if we weren’t cousins we’d need to have some chaperone or at least a guard watching to be sure we weren’t fooling around.” Continue reading “Mara’s Request”

Emmeline – Witch of Cerisey and the Cairn Lands
M’selle. Magus Elemix has informed me that he is no longer interested in being an intermediary between yourself and I in the matter of your fey patron or yourself. Therefore his interests or keeping him informed as no longer any concern of mine as he is not concerned in informing me or considering my interests. As women of power, we hold a difficult place in this world, especially up here in the North. So, with respect, any further communication will be directly with you. I trust you will find this a beneficial relationship. When you pass through next, we shall discuss the Mother Tree and what your hopes and that of your patron are you its effect on the North and in supporting Uzec’s critical place in the defense of the League.

The redcap awaited a response to return to Magus Alix, so Emmeline said she looked forward to discussing all of the Magus’ topics with her soon and in person. The redcap nodded and departed.
Upon arrival at Uzec Elemix requested an audience with the Baron. It wasn’t anything urgent, but it was something he felt he should discuss prior to departing on his upcoming mission.

Upon arriving at Uzec Elemix sat down in his quarters and penned a message to Magus Alix. The message read as follows:
Magus Alix, as you have requested I am writing to tell you of my recent encounter at the Mother Tree. I spoke again with the Fey known as Mara and again did not get even the slightest hint of darkness from her or from Emmiline. The tree has grown significantly in a very short time and there is the unmistakable sense of it and its grounds being in some way consecrated land. Inylene’e was engrossed in organizing her meager supplies and jotting down herbs she’d need from Elraien. Really she had barely more than bandages and a few easily-collected basics she’d picked up herself. The list was rather long, but once she was stocked, she’d probably be able to make them last a long time.
