Solo Visit to Ceresey
After a couple evenings and days far more luxurious and comfortable than Emmeline really thought she deserved, she decided it was time to visit Cerisey and the Mother Tree. She spent a very pleasant breakfast with the baron and his daughter discussing where her abilities might best benefit the barony in terms of added fertility and plant growth, then assured the baron she expected to return within a couple days.
She packed light and took Goblin’s Gift (the horse whom she usually referred to more simply as “GG”) east out of the town of Uzec. Nestled in the foothills of the mountains that cradled ancient Azenkuul lay the Cairns, Mara’s Glade, and of course the hamlet of Cerisey. Once she rode over the bridge across the river that flowed down through the mountains and through the heart of Uzec, it was a short ride to the hamlet. The first place she was determined to visit was her little “manor”. Continue reading “Solo Visit to Ceresey”
A meeting with the Baron
Elemix had been granted a private meeting with the Baron. Lord Roland Baron d’Uzec was a large and powerful man in his mid-40s. With a tone of respect he said, “Magus Dungaroon, you have traveled long and hard to get back here. We thank you for your work exposing the goblins earlier this year and we also thank you for your part in delivering my daughter, the Lady d’Uzec back to us, if only for a short time. What is it that I can assist you with?” Continue reading “A meeting with the Baron”
A Walk in the Woods
The baron offered Emmeline his arm and they took a back stair to the Baron’s gardens and woods, small secluded acreage outside the castle and the town, but within earshot of the Baron’s guards should trouble arise. The moon was out, and a light breeze make the walk comfortable. It wasn’t cold, but a touch cool. “It is good to see you mademoiselle. My daughter says that the trip to Thalassa was a success for you in many ways.” Continue reading “A Walk in the Woods”

River Celeste, A Change of Mind
With less than a day before getting into port, Emmeline saw River (Rivanon) writing a letter. Two others were completed by her side. Looking up she said, “Hello Em.”
“Okay, what have you got?” Emmeline prompted. Continue reading “River Celeste, A Change of Mind”
Elemix visits with Emmiline
After getting some fresh air and seeing no one of note was on deck, Elemix decided to head below and see if Emmiline was available to talk. He passed through the poorly lit hold and past row after row of cargo before coming upon the familiar corridor that held the tiny passenger rooms. Upon reaching Emmilines door, Elemix knocked and waited patiently. Continue reading “Elemix visits with Emmiline”
Shipboard with Sevé
Emmeline sat on a box that a sailor had kindly lashed to the railing on the deck of the little sailing ship. She stared out at the sea, watching waves roll by as she idly chucked shells of a few nuts she’d taken as an afternoon snack into the water. She was deep in thought when the little blue light, hardly noticed during the brightness of full daylight, meandered nearby. Continue reading “Shipboard with Sevé”
River Meets with Elemix
A day out from Breven, a knock came on Elemix’s door. Sang looked up, but wasn’t on guard. Upon answering, Elemix saw a tall, lithe woman with platinum hair and blue eyes wearing traveling clothes. “Magus,” she said with an obscure accent he couldn’t quite place, “what do you think?” Continue reading “River Meets with Elemix”
Letter for Elemix from Bella
Dearest Son,
I am confident in you. Seeing you in action and helping you twice while you were here was a good thing. You are supremely adept and skilled. A more talented son I could not ask for. Your father is very proud of you as well and your cousins are rooting for your success. Roux and Pris are excited beyond belief. This is your first mission for the Academy. It could lead to great things. I only wish the mission was less perilous. Continue reading “Letter for Elemix from Bella”
