Ride Home

Timeline: April 22nd, 2008

The car was quiet for some time after departing for home. Lyla was in the passenger seat while Michael was in the back and Ramiel drove. Michael had said nothing since the shadow realm and it was finally getting to Ramiel.

“Hey Lyla why don’t you crawl into the back seat and give me a show? I mean if all he is going to do is sit there and mope we might as well make some use of him.” Ramiel said with a smile and a wink in her direction.

She looked over at him with a faint smile upon her lips, her head cocked in a nearly lupine question. Then she looked back at Michael. He was certainly closed to them right now. Perhaps she could make this boring drag of a journey home something more interesting. She released her seat restraints and slipped over her seat, showing remarkable flexibility and fluidity. There wasn’t a lot of head room in the Ford Focus hatchback and of the three of them in the car, only she could possibly have been slender enough to make a go of it.

Pit Stop

Timeline: April 22nd, 2008 (after the conversation in The Ride)

After several hours in the car Ramiel decided he needed some stretching room. Pulling into the next rest station he asked Michael to take a walk with him, alone. Leaving Lyla to an unlocked car he kept the keys so she could not leave them.
“We need to talk.”

Michael got into step beside Ramiel. “OK, what’s up?” Michael asked.

“Anne Marie wants to bargain for the ring. I told her I would have to discuss it with you. I figure after we have a good laugh we can tell her no.” He laughed only slightly and Michael could tell it was to cover how he really felt on the matter.

Trip to Boston

Timeline: April 10th 2008

Lately Lyla seemed to enjoy standing out from the crowd. For a year she’d been avoiding dressing in the often risque attire she traditionally enjoyed wearing, especially around town and instead simply wearing simpler jeans or cutoffs and t-shirts, jackets, etc. She only mixed it up if she was really going out of town or to battle the latest supernatural threat. But she hadn’t been out of town for a while now, and her “fighting leathers” had been shredded (again) for the last time in the latest round of battles with the wererats.

Over the past few days, Ramiel had begun to notice that she was wearing much more stylish clothing, things she’d avoided wearing in the past for fear of having them ruined if she had to shift, or because of the amount of time she spent as a wolf. As far as he knew, she didn’t have much talent for dedicating clothing to herself such that it would shift with her instead of simply tearing when she shifted. Even if someone dedicated the clothes for her, it didn’t help long — she didn’t like wearing the same clothes every day, as many in her pack did. And since she seemed only able to keep one set dedicated to her at all, she just didn’t bother anymore.

The End??

Timeline: Evening, April 7-10th 2008

It was only an hour after the final battle with the rats that invaded Eldonwell. On his way out of the tunnels, Michael told Ariyah that after he rested, he would come up with a plan to deal with the traps left behind by the rats.

Michael went to his gun shop, and started making and putting in new pins for the ten grenades that were part of a trap that the rats had left. This task was long and painstakingly slow. So when Michael got done and looked up at the clock, three hours had past. Michael got up and stored the grenades in a safe spot, where they wouldn’t get moved around alot.

On his slow walk back to the house, Michael was deep in thought on his actions that seemed to upset everyone. Though when he and Ramiel drew on the power of the Abyss to do their magic, they didn’t know where the power had come from. All that they had felt was that drawing on the power felt good, and that it was easy to do.

A New Dawn Fades

Timeline: April 22nd, 2008

A change of speed, a change of style.
A change of scene, with no regrets,
A chance to watch, admire the distance,
Still occupied, though you forget.

The colors and shades of sundrenched plains echoed vividly in her memory. The last few days had been glorious, despite pain and frustration. The spiritual reasons for their journey here concluded, Ann-Marie stood on the hill, many yards from the hotel, watching the night sky and knowing it was all she would ever have. She had asked for Ramiel to meet her here, and she waited patiently for the inevitable.

Checking Up on a Friend

Timeline: April 9th, 2008

A couple of days after things calmed down after the attack on Eldon Well, Rey went looking for Jesse. She wanted to find out how her friend was doing, and to thank her for her help. It proved a lot more difficult that Rey thought it would be. She finally managed to locate the house Ann-Marie had rented and that Jesse had mentioned she was staying but no one was there. The door was locked and there was no answer and no lights on.

But there was still a lot of cleanup going on in the town and many folks had banded together in work crews to patch holes in people’s basements and streets and to help those who had fire damage. It was possible Jesse was out helping the community.

Creation and Celebration

Timeline: Evening, April 7th 2008

About halfway to the cabin, Rey ran her hands over Grey’s rear, then gave it a squeeze. “As much as I adore the view,” she said, “being upside down like this is starting to get uncomfortable.”

Rey was lowered gently to the ground. “I am glad to see you are mobile. There are a lot of people who would not move so much with wounds.” He thought for a moment. “Then there are those who try to move when they can not. Like Ramiel. I felt bad leaving him behind. I know how hands on he is. But i was relieved to see he understood how injured he truly was. Then there was Michael, putting everyone in risk to do what? He was almost as bad as Ramiel. It took a Dr Beckett four hours to patch up Ramiel and two for Michael. So what does he do… Oh I am going in with you..”

Rey Learns to Fight Dirty (or Not)

Timeline: April 17th, 2008

About a week and a half after the final battle with the Witch Rats, Rey found Ironclaw at the Blood and Brew. She wasn’t scheduled to work that day, but had dropped in to get something to eat. A couple of things had been whirling around in her head, and seeing her Ulfric there made her decide to throw caution to the wind.

She hopped up on the bar stool next to him. “Hi!” she said with a smile. She knew her voice and body language weren’t showing she was nervous, but the act was more for the herd in the bar. Ironclaw could find out whenever he chose what she was feeling. Rey was pretty sure he’d say yes to her request, but there was still the chance he’d say no.

The Sleeper Awakes

Timeline: April 20th, 2008

It had been two weeks since Grace had fallen and as per her request John had kept her body safe and away from sunlight. He had given her blood, a lot at first it seemed to make her wounds disappear. John kept it up until it seemed like she wasn’t using it as fast. For the last week he had been giving her a direct transfer of his own blood, (ooc about one lethal a night in blood loss), with his rate of healing he could keep it up indefinitely and he liked the idea of Grace being full of good Beckett blood again. As he had done every night for the past week, he was reading a book as his blood drained away into her body. She was supposed to wake up soon he thought but it really didn’t matter he would keep this up for as long as it took.

As he was reading his book, his eyes grew heavy and then shut, the book falling from his fingers, maybe it was all the work he had been doing at the park or maybe it was the blood loss and all the long nights but John fell asleep and was soon lost in dreamland.

A Victorious Return

Timeline: Evening, April 7th 2008

The various members of the pack filed into the cave locus after the battle. Some had been very badly wounded, but Ariyah had generously seen to them. All were well now, if a bit tired from the exertion of wiping out a shapeshifter nest containing three times their own numbers.

Most returned naked or reduced to mere rags; a clear indication the fighting had been especially vicious. Many used a special rite that preserved clothes when they shifted, but that presumed the clothes were in working order before they shifted in the first place. For many of them, they’d been fighting in at least two and more commonly three of their forms, including Hishu, or human form.
