Silverleaf Visits

A temple acolyte entered the prayer hall where the wounded from the fighting up near Calder Keep were gathered. “Sister Typhon Né, there is an elf, yes I’m certain it is an elf, that is here to talk to you. He says his name is Remy Silverleaf and he said it was important.”

“I know him,” Typhon replied. “Please show him to a quiet room, and let him know I’ll be with him shortly.” Continue reading “Silverleaf Visits”

Sevé Did a Bad Thing

The night of the visit to the Vale, Sevé, who had been out of sight out of mind for Emmeline, appeared. She looked despondent and went to a branch of a nearby tree and sat with a ‘hrumpf’.

“Sevé?” Emmeline prodded, “Is something wrong?” She turned to face the tiny fey spirit.

“Seve tried to help the Nephew-Cousin. Not work the way Seve planned.” she said in a sorrowful tone. “Nothing turns out right for Seve.” Continue reading “Sevé Did a Bad Thing”

Epilogue: Session 27

Overview:

The party participated in the defense of Calder Keep. After the fall of the Baron and the Castilian and the raid on the goblin priests, the party split up to support Lady Rivanon’s strategy of negotiation with targeted action. Typhon Né took out the enemy’s etten, while Emmeline and Elemix went after different leaders. All defended the walls with young Renée and Silverleaf providing targeted support. The battle raged much of the morning with the enemy’s unity being broken with the death of their leaders and most of their priests of Hate. Continue reading “Epilogue: Session 27”

A Rainy Day…

Rain drenched the ground making it a soggy mess. Her feet slipped with every step threatening to make her fall but there was not time to think about it, she had to keep running.

Her arms pushed away branches and leaves in rapid succession as she pushed her way through the forest. Instinct had taken over long ago telling her body not to stop, it hurtled her forward past her limits, keep going, don’t look back, just keep going. Continue reading “A Rainy Day…”

Reuniting with Mara

At sunset, Emmeline, now certain Mara was back, found a lonely balcony and took a seat on the railing. Although a little precarious, and certainly a little windy, the cold didn’t bother her. She closed her eyes a moment and then called out. “Mara? Are you there?”

“We are here,” said Mara’s voice. “We had to go away for a time. We were…tired.”

“Tired? Oh. Because of what Elemix needed,” Emmeline said. “That allowed us to survive that night. I barely survived so him having his magic back was exactly what was needed for us to live. We eventually broke the siege and the goblin forces, plus all their leaders. They were being lead by priests that brought worship of an ancient god of… ill feelings.” Continue reading “Reuniting with Mara”

Lady Rivanon Maria d’Uzec: Daughter and Heir of Lord Roland d’Uzec. Member of the College of Seers. Member of the Thalassan Bar and Advocates Guild. Grand niece of the Duke of Derrien.

A week after the party returned to Uzec, Emmeline encountered Rivanon working at a desk, going through papers, messages, and more. As usual, Rivanon noticed Emmeline’s approach. “I’m sorry my friend. I’ve been very busy with tasks my father has asked me to attend to. Perhaps a break would be nice. Please sit if you have time.” She gestured to the chair on the other side of the desk.

Emmeline found a seat and smiled. “My lady, I should apologize because after these days I have to come to you on business. The Baron has asked me to attend some things, and at the top of my list is coordinating with you,” Emmeline said. “Perhaps after I explain a little, we could break for lunch?” Continue reading “Rivanon and the Witch”

The Baron

Patrols led by Captain du Triel, his daughter and others had departed to reconnoiter what happened to the goblins and their allies. Silverleaf had gone north, and Sir Etienne named provisional commander of the Calder Keep. In that time Elemix, Emmeline and Tiffanie had returned with Rivanon to Uzec along with three goblin prisoners the Lady had chosen to bring with. Upon arriving, Lady Rivanon and Emmeline quickly made their way to the Baron’s chambers…

The Baron had been warned they were coming. He sat on a large chair near his bed. Emmeline could see that he still was hurt. Rivanon ran in and hugged her father, crying uncontrollably. Her father looked back and said to her, “My little belle, you’ve done your pére proud. How you have grown and become the spitting image of your mother. Proud, strong, assertive.” Continue reading “The Baron”

The War Council

Night was upon the Keep. Lady Rivanon d’Uzec summoned what remained of the Baron’s senior leadership and invited the party as guests. Standing around a stone table was Lady d’Uzec, Sir Etienne of Calder Keep, Sir Brann of Uzec, Lord Chardin of Yvoire, Lord Arrisey, Sir Maurice Le Marin, Magus Elemix, Lady de Cerisey, Brother Bertrand (an acolyte), and Mssr. Caval of Branmarc the designated leader of the refugees huddled in the courtyard and hallways of the Keep.

Outside, the fires of the goblin camps and the sound of wood being felled could be discerned in the darkness, no longer muffled by the storms. Continue reading “The War Council”
