Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words…

We gathered upon a hill in a great spiral and I broke the crystal to take us to Sanctuary. There we found something… magnificent! The Sanctuary of the Gods had been torn from the world and now floated high above. We saw the greatest continents floating far below. It was beautiful!

After searching around, the circle of power and the circle of summoning. I set some people to tasks and located the calendar and other things needed for the ritual.

Fina’s Notes

In her own words…

Morning. I awoke with sweet dreams filling my head that chased away heavy thoughts of the fate of the world — for a very short while anyway.

Three priests or holy warriors await me down in that village. Waiting for me to go on this supposed journey to remake the world. Yet, I am not decided. If the world is remade, who pays for it? Nothing is free. Not sex, not love, and certainly not creation. There will be pain and I must know what it is before I undertake any journey.

The more I think of it, the heavier I feel. I think today I will not leave the manor. I must think.

Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words …

Still in a rather good mood since the Captain’s visit…  Sigh. I wonder what creative thing we might do next time.

Anyway, mind on the present.

Today, an interesting group of people arrived by airship. One, a stranger in a dark  cloak arrived, some were men with business at the manor, and one was a middle aged fortune teller that shared with me news that she fortold the High Lord’s death and is now foreseeing the death of the lordling, Neela’s brother.

Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words…

Ah, a fresh new day. I find myself prioritizing. Number one: Contact Sarai. Actually, that’s a big one. Let’s focus on that a bit.

I went to the shrine and prayed a while, after having sacrificed a pilfered money pouch. Arya came by and we had a chat. I brought her up to speed and she looked appropriately terrified. Eventually I got hungry though and concluded the best way to draw Sarai’s attention was to make a bit of mischief. After assuaging my hunger perhaps I shall go and work on recreating the Word of Creation.

OMG. So I meet Arya for lunch. And she was never at the shrine. I think I fainted! I totally treated my goddess like my best friend!! Wait. Is that okay? I mean…

Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words…

I assured Hernan he was on my list, though I was taking no new clients. He was overjoyed and so I lead him up to the Manor for a night that will live in his fantasy and dreams until next time.

Arya came to get me for breakfast, and despite the rain we had a pleasant walk — thanks to one of Andermath’s crazy contraptions. Guests arrived, apparently from Ganth. Some visited the manor.

Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words…

Lady Blackwell withdrew after the shock of the Sheriff’s death. I know she took it hard, but she also needs to be alone. I found that Arya took it very hard. I think she needs a distraction right now to avoid breaking down and to give time to process.

It was the hug that told me the most. I could feel her begin to quake, that tremor that forebodes completely falling apart and broke away first. I told her that we will wait for the funeral to morn the good Sheriff because right now the town had need of us. The dwarves seek to go below and I don’t think they know what they are getting into. I convinced her they will unleash something, without meaning to, that will threaten the entire town.

Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words…

A night’s rest did me good and the headache I’d been nursing since the encounter with the dark little dwarf finally abated. The next morning I went back into town in hopes of finding Val and Neela. It might be very interesting to see what happens when she learns her aunt has come for her!

And it was. They launched into an argument immediately. While we looked on, Val was introduced. For a moment the argument simmered down, but of course by then they were sort of the attention of the town given it happened in the town square.

Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words…

With the storm over, one might think things would return to normal, but the truth is that some things will never be the same. Val has a new slave, the poor thing. I’m sure he’d free her if he knew how. While I feel badly for the woman, I can’t help but be intrigued as to how Val will handle this new situation.

Of course I had a terribly busy night what with a customer and then… Master Barro. Who was looking to reproduce. Obviously not going to happen with me. Enough said about that. The first thing I did once dawn arrived was head back up the hill. Feeling less than fresh and a lot sore, I just want to put the night behind me.

Fina’s Notes

In Fina’s own words…

The storm was coming so I went to the manor and helped seal the shutters etc. But soon Tanya from the inn came up with a message that the Sheriff wanted the deputies a the inn tonight to help keep things calm. Ah, the things I must do for this town. Apparently I need now to give up a comfortable bed on a stormy night.

But I did go, faithful Aria at my back. There some of the remaining folk from the airship filtered in. My friends were there by the time I arrived, of course, except for Val.

Fina’s Notes

In her own words…

The next day was the usual cleanup after the party. It didn’t take long since the whole town helped.

Mental note: We need the service of a stone mason. Wouldn’t it be handy if we had a large supply of big, round stones for him to lob at enemies? I think so.

Marjie got us drunk for lunch. Just one shot of stone wine did it! I don’t remember a lot after that.

And then suddenly it was five hours later and a dwarf by name of Fogrun arrived. I welcomed him and we treated him well. I did ask him of the story of the rock wine, but he recommended that one be told by a bard, which he agreed to speak to. Perhaps a dwarven bard might appear one day.
