Session XXX

Epic Galitea Sunday January 24 2010

I sat and talked with Naya for a while about goals and where the group was going in the future. Kestra went for a walk. Rowe and Tristain went to a room together. Eventually, Naya and I went to our own rooms.

When we saw Kestra the next morning, her hair looked rumpled and she was adjusting her clothing. At first I thought she had found someone to be with but then I realized she looked like she was drugged though she said she hadn’t be or at least didn’t think she had been, her coordination was shot and she looked dazed. Tristian went to the room Kestra came out of and interrogated the man that was still in the room, while Kestra went to my room to regain her composure, from what I could learn, neither party could remember what happened the previous night, just waking up to each other in the morning. I think something is wrong with my cousin but I don’t know what it is or what to do other than keep an eye on her, hope for the best, and be available if she needs me.

From the city our next stop was to the Baron whose sword we had reclaimed from that monsters that had slain his son and heir. It was decided that Naya would be disguised somewhat by dyeing her hair red; while she was doing that Tristian and I got supplies and horses.

It took us 4 days to ride to the seat of his barony. When we got there the people were looking haunted and suspicious. We tried to talk to them but they would do no more than point in the direction of the baron’s residence before they would run into their house and shut the door. It looked like there had been fighting here recently but there is fighting everywhere in these troubled times and felt that the baron would be the one to best answer our questions.

We got to the gate of his manor and they made up wait ½ an hour before it opened. There were 6 guards waiting for us and they said that they would escort us to the baron, Teig Wolfgar.

A supper was to be held in our honor. We were allowed to put on our best dress and told that we would not need our weapons, as this area was secure. We went to the meal, like lambs to the slaughter, and got drugged and captured. I learned later that Rowe and Kestra did not succumb to the drug as quickly as the rest of us and fought a short battle. Rowe tried to hit the Baron with a table and Kestra tried a quick attack and then fled, but she didn’t get far.

I woke up in a cell, spread eagle, naked, and chained to a wall. I managed to free one hand. When Tristian showed up and freed my other hand I told her that I could get the rest and she should help the others. She found where the others were being held, then came back and helped me free my ankles. We freed Naya and Kestra, Rowe was free by that time, free but unconscious. (not sure who freed themselves into unconsciousness(?)

We were able to rush the guards and take care of them but found we were in the middle of an enemy encampment. Kestra volunteered to sneak into the camp and retrieve our stuff. I dressed in a guard’s uniform and stood guard so it wasn’t as obvious that the guards were missing. After lots of sweating and hoping the guards wouldn’t be changed before Kestra got back, she returned and Tristian cast a spell which let us fly away.

We discussed options and decided to head southwest for four weeks to a town where some people should be friendly to Naya, or at least willing to listen and talk to her.
