A Tisket a Tasket a Trickster in My Basket

Timeline: February 20th, 2008

Selene was returning home from the Blood and Brew. Since the Hunter issue was resolved, they were able to move around more freely not always needing to be in pairs. She was taking a short cut through the woods when she felt a presence, one that she had not felt since….

Following the feeling she found the woman who had been in the hotel room with the boys that night. She was sitting under a large tree meditating. Or so Selene thought, she could not be certain. Looking at her it was obvious why a drunken teen would find it difficult to turn her down.

The frustrated anger Selene felt at the situation flared, and a low growl escaped her lips before she could stop it.

Eyes the shade of amber settled on Selene as they opened. “Have I trespassed?” She asked in alto voice, smooth and pleasing to the ears.

“On what is mine, yes.”

“Oh. Do tell.” Her eyes lit up with excitement as she patted the ground next to her. “Come sit, we will talk.” She was confident as she spoke.

Selene stayed where she was. “The mage Michael is my mate.”

Tara raised an eyebrow. “Ah. I see. So it is not the ground I sit upon but rather a man. Well, I guess boy at the time. So you are upset with me over him. Reasonable. “

She stood and leaned against the tree. “I had no way of knowing, he didn’t say. But then they said very little. Then I guess I owe you an apology. If I had known I could have made the same arrangment as I did with the dead one. But then that is different, a mate claiming dominance over the wolf king himself.” She laughed.

“So here is a situation then yes. I was asked to take care of three joy-riding teens. I was asked not to touch your Ulfric, so I did not. I simply let him do all the touching. You see the easiest way to keep them out of trouble was for them to be… out of service. The fastest way and the most fun was a mixture of booze and sex. It worked, well until Lyla woke them all up. Defeated the purpose.”

“Do you not share your mate with others?” She asked quizzically.

“Not sexually, no,” Selene said with a sharp shake of her head.

“Hmm. Then I have unknowingly insulted you. So you will have to let me make it up to you then. Would you like the same attention I gave to him? You do not hold it against him do you?” She asked.

“I don’t do women. What else do you offer?”

“Oh too bad. Well I see you did not answer the second part so I feel bad for Michael. What is it that you like? Would you like to have another man then? Make Michael watch as you are with another?” She could not help but smile at the thought.

“No. This isn’t about sex. It’s about trust. Do you have anything to offer for that?” Selene asked, doubting she’d get a satisfactory reply.

“You wish an agreement.. no not from me.” Her eyes lit up. “A TEST! A test to see if he would do it again then? Hmmm. I can test him for you, see if it was becasue of the situation or truly him. Is this what you wish?” she asked.

Selene watched Tara carefully. Her faith in Michael’s words to her, his promise of fidelity were all called into doubt, and it made her feel sick inside. But she had to know. Did she just fall for his smooth words because it was what she wanted to hear? “How long do I have to give you an answer?”

“As long as you like.” She moved at a lazy pace as she walked to her. She kept enough room between them for comfort. “I am not one for starting fights, so I wish to make this slight up to you. I rather have fun with life. I hope you don’t hold this against me, though I will not be angry if you do. So I will give this. I will not seek him out unless you ask it of me? This test I can give to you. You can be in shadow, and he will never know. Or perhaps even better. I may be able to allow you to give the test yourself.” She smiled widely.

“I’ll think about it,” Selene said, with a brief nod of her head. But first, there was a certain mage she needed to talk to first.

Tara smiled at Selene, then took a small bow while always keeping her eyes on the wolf. Then she walked away leaving Selene in peace.
